Since 1909.
Begun in Nihonbashi, eighty-odd years in Tsukiji, then to Toyosu with the market in 2018. A bowl shop of more than a hundred years.
Founded in 1909 (Meiji 42). Begun as a market eatery in Nihonbashi, it spent more than eighty years in the Uogashi Yokocho of the old Tsukiji market. In October 2018 it moved with the market to Toyosu. Today it is a small eleven-seat counter on the third floor of the Toyosu Fish Intermediate Wholesale Building, choosing the best fish of the day from the wholesalers each morning.

From the wholesalers, each morning.
Each morning we walk the Toyosu wholesalers stall by stall and pick the best fish of the day — uni, ikura, bluefin tuna, scallop. Straight off the ice, over warm rice.

Third floor, eleven seats.
The shop is on the third floor of the Fish Intermediate Wholesale Building — a small eleven-seat counter. Right in the middle of the market as it wakes, serving the day’s kaisendon.
